Produced from barley grown less than 10 km from the distillery, this Lowland single malt is full of elegant and fruity flavors. Kingsbarns Doocot will replace Dream to Dram, the distillery's first single malt, it is in a way its older brother.
Doocot embodies the Kingsbarns signature style very well, although with a longer aging time. It was matured in a combination of two types of barrels, mainly 90% ex-bourbon barrels and 10% ex STR Portuguese wine barrels (shaved, toasted and re-carbonized).
On the nose, sweet and floral aromas of cane sugar and banana cake, and tropical notes. On the palate a beautiful harmony of pineapple and summer red fruits with a hint of rhubarb, a delight for all whiskey lovers.
The name of this cuvée, Doocot is the Scottish word for "Dovecote", so this single malt pays homage to one of the most striking architectural features of the Kingsbarns distillery, its dovecote with Adam-style battlements and Gothic details, resembling to a miniature fortified tower.
