MARIE DELMAS
Grenache blanc/ Macabeu AOP Côtes du Roussillon 2022 Old vines
GRAPES:
60% white Grenache, 40% Macabeu
The quality level requires us to yield 25 Hl/hectare Production available for the 2022 vintage: 3000 bottles
TERROIR:
The shallow clay-limestone slopes, with a schistous subsoil, are at an altitude of 100m to 200m. The vines and their grapes are exposed due south and take full advantage of the benefits of a generous sun and a wind which guarantee us a healthy harvest.
HARVEST AND VINIFICATION:
The harvest is carried out by hand, in 10 kg crates, which are put in a cold room for 24 hours. This is followed by direct pressing, cold settling and low-temperature fermentation with stirring on fine lees. The two grape varieties are harvested and vinified separately with different maturities in order to bring fatness and freshness.
ADVICE FROM THE WINEGROWER:
This white wine has silky and feminine aromas of flowers (Narcissus, Ash blossom, lime blossom) and also fruit (apple, citrus, almond). The nose is silky and the mouth lively. Its richness gives it a nice length at the end of the mouth. Its aromas of citrus, anise and fennel bring vivacity.
It is drunk chilled (12/14°C) as an aperitif or with dishes such as fried calamari, seafood, chipirones à l'encre or even on a Pélardon cheese.
