MARIE DELMAS Dry Muscat Vin de pays from the Catalan Coasts 2018
GRAPES:
50% Muscat of Alexandria
50% Muscat small grains
Our desire for quality requires us to yield less than 30Hl/ha Production available: 4,000 bottles per vintage.
TERROIR:
The shallow clay-limestone slopes, with a schistous subsoil, are at an altitude of 100m to 200m. The vines and their grapes are exposed due south and take full advantage of the benefits of a generous sun and a wind which guarantee us a healthy harvest.
HARVEST AND VINIFICATION:
The harvest is carried out by hand, in 10 kg crates, which are put in a cold room for 24 hours. This is followed by direct pressing, cold settling and low-temperature fermentation with stirring on fine lees. The two grape varieties are harvested and vinified separately with different maturities in order to bring fatness and freshness.
ADVICE FROM THE WINEGROWER:
This dry Muscat is a wine with intense and feminine aromas of flowers and fruits. Intense nose typical of Muscat, it has a lively mouth. The citrus notes and its floral hint make it a round and very fresh wine with a lemony finish. Drink as an aperitif at 8/10°C, as a starter with seafood puff pastry, asparagus, shellfish, fish in sauce, white meats. Vegetarians will particularly appreciate it to accompany their meals.
